“Fluidity: Three Eras in Ballet History” was a student project exhibit where I chose to explore the progression of ballet through classical, romantic, and contemporary periods.
The goal was to design an immersive museum-style experience that conveyed ballet’s emotional and physical evolution while meeting the standards of the Victoria and Albert Museum brand. I designed spatial layouts using SketchUp, selecting a color palette and type system that echoed the elegance and discipline of ballet. The exhibit included custom display cases, wireframe mannequins, and printed materials like posters and a full documentation book.
The poster series won a Silver award in the 2015 International Design Awards (IDA) for Student Print and received Honorable Mention in the Student Overall category. It effectively communicated ballet’s changing form through a highly curated visual and physical experience.
The exhibit space was designed and rendered in SketchUp.
As part of our project presentation, I designed and printed a documentation booklet.
The International Design Awards (IDA) awarded the Fluidity poster series a Silver in the Student Print- Poster Subcategory and an Honorable Mention in the Student Overall category.
